Welcome...
Thanks for popping in. You’re very welcome.
We have something in common right away. You must be a music lover, as I am.
I’ll assume you’ve either heard me singing on the radio, at one of my ‘live’ performances or you’ve caught my radio show on U105, and perhaps you’d like to know a little more about me. Well here goes.
I grew up in a very musical family, with a twin brother and two younger brothers, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
My earliest musical memories are of watching pop stars on TV, on programmes like ‘Top of the Pops’, listening to the radio or, more often than not, playing albums from my parent’s large collection, which included pop, gospel and country.
At that stage, I knew I loved music, but had no idea I would make it any kind of a career.
Who were my favourites? I loved Elvis, Cliff, Abba, George Jones, Tammy Wynette and Crystal Gayle.
Then, during a family holiday in England, I was persuaded to enter a children’s talent contest. I managed to win both the heat and the final, and my little bit of success was, somehow, reported in a paper, back home in Ireland. This led to an invitation to sing a few Christmas songs, during a yuletide show, on the stage of one of Ireland’s most famous ballrooms, the Flamingo in Ballymena.
An even bigger thrill came a few years later, when dad took me to see one of my ‘heroines’, Crystal Gayle, at the Grosvernor Hall in Belfast. The promoter kindly arranged for me to have a few words with Crystal, after the show.
I think that was the moment I decided to take my music more seriously.
I knew then, that I wanted to use whatever talent I had, to try to entertain people.
Around that time I ‘fell in’ with a lovely bunch of talented and big hearted performers known as ‘The Showbiz Charity Club of Belfast’. They took me ‘under their wing’, and it was during many appearances on their ‘charity shows’, and while still at school, that I learnt a lot about how to ‘reach out’ to many different kinds of audiences.
The rest of my ‘story’ I’ll leave to someone else to cover, on the ‘Profile’ page.
I thank God for giving me a singing voice that some people find pleasure in listening to, but most of all for surrounding me with the best family, most wonderful husband and my darling seven year old son, Jordan.
I have so much to be grateful for.
And thank you, again, for your interest and support.
God bless,
